We had the pleasure of wellcoming Erik Echaniz Hernandez, CEO of Robotekin at SDT | Sankyo Desarrollos Técnicos .

During his visit, Erik had the opportunity to get to know our company in depth. We were able to show him our automation solutions for part handling and he experienced firsthand our extensive expertise in press lines for the automotive industry.

We want to mention a little-known cycling discipline called BIKE TRIAL, in which we have a world champion from Euskadi. His name is Julen Sáenz de Ormijana, and among his most notable achievements are the 1st place in the UCI BIKE TRIAL World Championship 2021 in the 26” category and the 2nd place in the team category.

Both Julen and his teammate Sergio Fernández (former World Champion in 2016 and a PhD in Engineering) saw the need to improve some aspects of their bicycles and proposed to us to shape the functional and maintenance improvements designed by Sergio. At SDT, we welcomed this proposal, pleased to have the opportunity to help our young athletes who are part of the Trial Bizikleta School.

The first objective of these designs is to reduce the distance between the rear axle of the bicycle and the bottom bracket axle to be able to install a single pulley tensioner (instead of the two that are generally seen in this type of bike). The second objective is to improve the braking system with a more reliable and sealed piston system that avoids the need to bleed them too frequently.
